On August 27, 2015, a federal jury in Louisiana convicted a man who had been arrested in connection with the purchase of a prescription-only erectile dysfunction drug for a woman with a history of drug use.
John M. Hix, 41, was arrested on September 8, 2015, at the West Louisiana State University facility in Louisiana.
He was released on bond and will be released on $250,000 bond in the United States on October 22, 2015.
The woman who purchased the medication for her husband, who had been diagnosed with Erectile Dysfunction, had a history of drug use, according to the U. S. Attorney’s Office.
According to the suit, Hix knew Hix was a drug user, but was not aware that he had been taking Viagra and Cialis.
The man’s wife, who is not connected to the woman, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit conspiracy to commit the offense and possession of a firearm during a traffic stop. The case was prosecuted by U. District Court Judge James B. Lue.
Attorney’s Office will post an order to show cause in the case on October 29, 2015, in which they will file a criminal case against Hix.
